The World Quizzing Championship ignited much quizzing fervour this month (we managed a measly 63 out of 240), but the rest of June’s quiz competitions seem a lot more fun and forgiving. From three-day offline quiz contests to ten-week-long online quiz leagues, the remainder of the month is a party pack of intrigue. A collaboration between four NITs of southern India — Warangal, Surathkal, Calicut, and Trichy— this quiz competition is in partnership with the Indian Express, where we will be providing an exclusive puzzle set! Five standalone online quizzes will be spread out over the course of one month starting June 16. Participation is in teams of two, open to all college students or anyone under the age of 25. As puzzle partner, we will be hosting a surprise crossword puzzle on the day of the MLA Quiz:

After a series of mind-bending national quizzes, the Karnataka Quiz Association is back with another one of their famed events — AsKQAnce 2024. The three-day quizzing extravaganza is slated for June 28 to 30 at The Institute of Agricultural Technologists (IAT) in Bangalore. The national finals of their previous inter-city quizzes will also take place here, followed by a range of quizzes from business and travel-and-living to a good old pub quiz. Registration is entirely on-the-spot, so all you have to do is turn up! More details can be found on kqaquizzes.org
An online quiz set by scientists and engineers, the EMU Quiz League is dedicated to anything and everything nature, science and technology. Now in season two, the MIMIR-format competition will span eight weeks starting from July 26. Registrations open from June 13, with free tickets and heavy discounts for early birds. A wholesome sidenote: 10 per cent of registration proceeds will be donated to the NGO Dogs of Delhi to help animals.

Staying true to its name, the Patna Mindfest will play host to a total of five brainy events, including two quizzes. With an India Quiz, General Quiz, Cryptic Crossword, Creative Writing, and Spell Bee on the register, the event will be held on June 22 and 23.
Organized by the IAS Officers Association of Bihar, the Mind Fest also has an additional perk: its unique venue, the futuristic Bihar Museum. Attractive cash prizes await the winners, and the events are open to all ages.

Part of IIM-B’s annual Entrepreneurship Summit ‘Eximius’, this two-round competition puts your business acumen to the test. Hosted by famed quiz master Major Chandrakant Nair, ‘BizWhiz’ is touted as a ‘general quiz with a flavour of business trivia’. Both preliminary and final rounds will happen on campus on July 7, and college students can participate in teams of two or give it a go as a lone wolf. A prize pool of Rs 20,000 is up for grabs.

Serial binge-watchers can try this 10-week MIMIR quiz league hosted by Gyaanspace that’s themed on all things entertainment. Questions will be centred around the world of music, web series, TV shows, and movies, with participation open to all. The games begin on June 16.
