SP slams Maya as BSP completes 3 years

The SP attacked rival BSP on its completion of three years in power in UP charging that its rule has been beset with law and order problems.

The Samajwadi Party on Thursday attacked rival BSP on its completion of three years in power in Uttar Pradesh charging that its rule has been beset with law and order problems.

“(BSP Chief) Mayawati had promised during the UP assembly elections in 2007 that she would improve the law and order situation in UP. However her regime has only led to chaos and with so many unscrupulous elements in her party,the state has become an example of organised crime rule. Law and order situation has worsened in the state in the last three years,” SP spokesperson Mohan Singh told reporters here.

He alleged that Mayawati wasted precious public money by installing memorials and put extra burden on the state exchequer.

“When (SP chief) Mulayam Singh Yadav’s tenure as UP chief minister ended,the state had a surplus of Rs 18,000 crore.

However now the state faces a deficit of Rs 55,000 crore. No leader in the country’s political history would have worn a garland made with currency notes worth lakhs. Mayawati will have to come clean on all the allegations levelled against her,” Singh said.
