Differences still exist with Sharad: Nitish

Nitish Kumar expects differences over Women's Bill to be resolved at the Parliamentary Party meeting.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said honest differences of approach with JD(U) president Sharad Yadav over the Women’s Reservation Bill still existed, but expected the matter would be resolved at the Parliamentary Party meeting.

“I do admit, even after meeting Sharad Yadav in New Delhi, there are nothing but honest differences of approach that still exist between me and him on the bill,” Kumar told reporters on the sidelines of a Janata Darbar programme here.

“Sharad Yadav wants the provision of quota within quota altering the present form of the bill. I also do want the same.

“But my stand is let the bill be passed first in its present form and then discuss the issue of quota within quota,” Kumar said.

He expected the matter would be resolved during the meeting of JD(U) Parliamentary Party.

“There are no differences with the party president on other issues … and I should draw your attention that the major challenge before us is the assembly election in Bihar and we have to work hard,” he said.
