BJP terms Congress as ‘mother of corruption’

Sonia Gandhi's allegation of misappropriation of central funds for Bihar reflects her 'desperation,' says BJP.

BJP on Friday termed Congress as the “mother of corruption” and said Sonia Gandhi’s allegation of misappropriation of central funds for Bihar reflects her “disappointment and desperation”.

“There is no substance in her charge of corruption in the centrally-funded schemes… it reflects her sheer disappointment and desperation”,BJP General Secretary Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters here.

Terming the Congress as “mother of corruption”,Prasad questioned the party for corruption in CWG,involving around Rs 70,000 crore, and 3 G spectrum deal.

“Probe after probe is being ordered by the government into the CWG corruption and even senior Congress leaders are engaged in trading charges against each other”,he remarked.

“There is not even an iota of doubt about the clean image of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi in Bihar”,Prasad said.

Earlier, talking to reporters before leaving for election campaign,JD(U) president Sharad Yadav too criticised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi for their diatribes against Nitish Kumar.

“It will be better,if,they come forward for an open debate instead of levelling baseless charges at the time of elections”,Yadav said.
