Pandemonium broke out during question hour in the State Legislative Assembly here this morning with angry opposition members from Jammu – BJP and Panthers Party,even trying to manhandled Independent legislator Engineer Abdul Rashid,who was protesting in the well of the House over the Speaker’s decision disallowing his resolution on return of the mortal remains of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.
The situation was,however,saved by marshalled who prevented angry opposition members from reaching near Rashid. The opposition members,objecting to Rashid’s raking up the Afzal Guru issue,were demanding removal of Rashid from the House.
Some Congress members from the treasury benches too joined the issue with opposition,but Speaker Mubarak Gul refused to accept their demand. “I will not remove him from the House on your demand. What is he saying…Is he asking for Azadi or Pakistan?” Speaker asked.
However,as his repeated pleas to allow the House to function fell on deaf ears,Speaker adjourned the House for ten minutes. Rashid was helped to return to his seat by DPI(M) member M Y Origami.
