Four days after Bihar CM Nitish Kumar released a 10-year report card of his government, the BJP on Friday accused him of running away with the credit for “good governance” in the state. The BJP was part of his coalition government for nearly seven years and Nitish alone cannot take credit for it, the party said.
According to former deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi, Nitish should contest the forthcoming assembly polls on the performance of two-and-a-half years of JD(U) government riddled with incidents like Gandhi Maidan and Bodh Gaya blasts, Chhapra mid-day meal tragedy and spurt in caste and communal clashes.

He also contested the state government’s claims of providing electricity to nearly 26,000 villages. “Over 41 BPL families are yet to get connections in 49,448 tolas of 17 districts. Nitish Kumar’s home district Nalanda has 998 villages which need electricity,” he said.
Earlier, Nitish had countered PM Narendra Modi’s jibes on poor electricity supply in Bihar.
According to Sushil Kumar Modi, the Bihar government did not reveal the truth of central government extending Bihar’s quota to 2,600 MW from 1,700 MW during UPA days.
According to him, Bihar, known for its turnaround and success stories, had become a matter of negative discussion post NDA split.
