BJP demands fool-proof security for NE people in other states

8 NE people were assaulted in Pune, while 2 Manipuri girls met the same fate in Bangalore: BJP

BJP demanded the Centre to provide “fool-proof” security to people from North Eastern region residing in other parts of the country in wake of their mass exodus from several states.

The Centre must take immediate corrective steps and stop discrimination with the people of the region,BJP general secretary Tapir Gao said.

“BJP is taking the issue of mass exodus seriously. If New Delhi fails to take immediate action to tackle the situation, the people of the region will stand united and give befitting reply to divisive forces,” he said.

Gao alleged that eight people from the NE were assaulted in Pune, while two Manipuri girls met the same fate in Bangalore.

He also alleged that illegal immigrants were a major threat not only to the North East but to the entire country and blamed Congress for protecting them for its vote bank politics and thereby committing a crime against the NE people.

The party’s North East organisational in-charge P Chandrasekhar Rao said the exodus was a repercussion of the recent communal violence in Assam.

The exodus from Hyderabad and other parts of the country was engineered by fundamentalists to accommodate illegal migrants in Assam and other North Eastern states,he alleged.
