Pakistan Budget

Pakistan hiked its defence expenditure by a record 20 per cent, allocating it Rs 30,375 million, or about 30 per cent of the Rs 98,550 million budget for 1984-85. This would push up Pakistan defence expenditure by Rs 5,156 million over the budgeted figure of Rs 25,219 million last year and would account for about 46 per cent of the non-development current expenditure. The overall size of the budget for 1984-85 will be higher by 10.6 per cent.
