Nobel laureate and Grameen Bank founder Muhammad Yunus discussed the concept of micro-finance with Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday.Rahul Gandhi, like Congress president Sonia Gandhi, has evinced keen interest in the activities of the bank as well as the Grameen Trust.Yunus used the meeting to invite Gandhi to Bangladesh to experience its huge network of micro-credit institutions first-hand. The MP is understood to have responded positively to the invitation. Earlier, following a meeting with Yunus on the sidelines of the Satyagraha Conference, Sonia Gandhi to had expressed interest to visit Bangladesh. The Grameen Bank experience is all set to be implemented in India, with the Congress taking keen interest in the concept.Yunus said his first area of focus in India would be Assam, while he will also open a centre at Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh. Yunus also held a 20-minute meeting with External Affairs Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee.
