Youth murders 45-yr-old man

SURAT, Nov 4: A youth murdered a 45-year-old man by stabbing him twice in the neck and abdomen and is absconding, after he was reprimanded for stealing a bicycle, a case registered on Wednesday, in the Sachin police station, said.

According to a complaint lodged by Suresh, the son of deceased Bhanu Sawai, his father was stabbed by one Jairam alias Kashinath Rawat after he reprimanded the accused for stealing a bicycle on Tuesday night. The police have launched a search for the accused. Sachin PI B K Dodiya is investigating the case and is confident that the accused would be nabbed in a few days.

According to information, Rawat and the Sawais hailed from the same village in Orissa and the accused used to have his meals in their house, located in Un village on the outskirts of the city. Late on Tuesday night, the accused came for his supper on a bicycle and on inquiry the family came to know that he had stolen it. Bhanu Sawai scolded him for stealing, which enraged the accused, who stabbed him twice and fled the scene.

A case of murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at the Sachin police station.
