WTC security beefed up after threat

A day after the World Trade Centre WTC at Cuffe Parade received a threat to blow up the building, the Mumbai Police said that the message was sent by a person who has given a contact number from Uttaranchal in the e-mail. Investigations have revealed that the e-mail was sent using a pre-paid Internet card with a 8220;very dynamic8221; IP Internet protocol address.

A police official said: 8220;There is a possibility of this being a hoax letter sent by an insider from the WTC .8221;

The police, however, are not taking any chances and have stepped up security at all vital installations in the city. The Joint Commissioner of Police ATS K P Raghuvanshi, said: 8220;Every threat is taken seriously.8221;
