BANGALORE, FEB 17: Wipro Ltd 8211; which was zooming on the stock market 8211; will not be able to sustain for the full year its after-tax profit growth of 118 per cent recorded in the nine months ended December 31, 1999, a senior company official said on Thursday. quot;Our overall approach has been to improve the skewing of our revenue and profit numbers.

Therefore you will find that the improvement also means that the three quarter growth rates cannot be expected for the whole year,quot; said S C Senapaty, Wipro8217;s corporate executive vice president for finance. It issued a clarification to the Bangalore Stock Exchange BSE on the reported move by a US-based company to acquire a stake in Wipro. According to the clarification, the company has denied any such move and there was no negotiation to this repect with any US-based company. Further, it has also clarified that there was no proposal for an overseas listing at the present movement.
