Saturday8217;s meeting comes in the wake of a similar public hearing organised by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board MPCB earlier this month. Explaining the need for another similar meeting, Amita Garware of the Indian Heritage Society says: 8220;The attendance at the last meeting was not very representative of the people. Our aim is to inform many more about this project and tell them about exactly what impact it will have on the city.8221;

The Worli-Nariman point phase is the extension of the Bandra-Worli bridge, which is already under construction. While the first MPCB public hearing was mandatory, the upcoming one is being organised to enable more people to participate in the debate.
