Vsihwa Hindu Parishad international working president Ashok Singhal today termed Gujarat as a 8216;8216;successful experiment8217;8217;8212;and warned that it would be repeated all over India.
Singhal, in Amritsar to inaugurate a physiotherapy centre at the Shivala Bhaian temple, said, 8216;8216;Godhra happened on February 27 and the next day, 50 lakh Hindus were on the streets. We were successful in our experiment of raising Hindu consciousness, which will be repeated all over the country now.8217;8217;
Singhal also spoke glowingly of how whole villages had been 8216;8216;emptied of Islam8217;8217;, and how whole communities of Muslims had been dispatched to refugee camps. This was a victory for Hindu society, he added, a first for the religion. 8216;8216;People say I praise Gujarat. Yes I do,8217;8217; he told an appreciative, but modest, audience.
Singhal also took potshots at the NDA Government, saying it hadn8217;t helped the Hindu cause. The Ram temple would be built at the same place in Ayodhya, he stated. 8216;8216;We have been able to raise consciousness within the Hindu community, though it8217;s unfortunate that the temple hasn8217;t been built till now.8217;8217;
