Club Weekend. What could that be? Yet another nightclub or pub in the suburbs? Well, it8217;s quite the opposite. In simple words, as Rajesh Kumar, CEO, Club Weekend Events Ltd, puts it: quot;It8217;s a meeting ground for family and friends for clean, healthy fun.quot;

Club Weekend kicked off with a Pankaj Udhas concert in the first week of this month, just after the company was formally launched on May 6. The first event itself attracted 2,500-odd members by word of mouth. quot;The response was quite overwhelming. We didn8217;t expect such a number to gather for the very first event.quot; Right now, Club Weekend is on its way with its second event, a 15-day bungee jumping event at Bageecha, near Mudh Island. The Kumar family awaits its outcome. Only the rains will tell.

And as far as finances go, it already looks more than secure for this happy family enterprise. quot;For the bungee jumping event, we have managed to rope in multinationals like Coca Cola, which will hopefully leave us with enough money for the next event and other privileges for members.quot; Other events that will soon be listed under Club Weekend Events8217; are plays, fashion shows, awards nights, sports, star nights and simple member get-togethers. It soon opens its branch in Calcutta.

And till business starts roaring, Kumar and his extended family remain loyal to the belief they started out with: togetherness is entertainment8217;. We may not agree on that fully, but we are convinced it is already paying off in every possible way.
