The Young Turks of the Congress are finding the going tough in the coming Lok Sabha elections. With the Samajwadi Party fielding a candidate against him,Union Minister Jitin Prasada, who was already facing the heat from BSP candidate Rajesh Verma,is now up against the wall in his newly created Dhauraha parliamentary constituency. Sachin Pilot is also facing the heat in Ajmer, with the BJP fielding Kiran Maheshwari in the constituency that has a considerable population of Sindhis and members of the trading community. Ajmer has been a BJP bastion, with the Congress winning the seat only once during seven elections in the last 25 years. Guna MP Jyotiraditya Scindia can also ill-afford to be complacent given the fact that the BSP garnered over one lakh votes in the eight Assembly constituencies falling under his parliamentary constituency in the polls last November. When he urged the party recently to field young men on difficult seats,Rahul Gandhi couldnt have been referring to them!
