LONDON: A 102-year-old visually impaired British woman is now the countrys oldest girl guide,a media report said. Betty Lowe joined Girl Guides volunteers aged 11 in 1919. And,in the finest Guides tradition,she does a regular good turn by spending a few hours washing up at Salford Royal Hospital canteen and chatting to patients. I just enjoy helping other people and being there for the company. It8217;s what keeps me going. Ive met some lovely,smashing people, Betty,of Salford,was quoted by the Daily Express as saying. Woman addicted to online games,neglects kids,pets
LONDON: A British woman became so obsessed with an online game that she let her three children live in squalor and left her two dogs to starve to death,the Daily Mail reported. The 33-year-old played the game non-stop on the Internet for months while her children were reduced to eating cold baked beans straight from the tin. Her home became filthy,with rubbish strewn over the floor and the bodies of her two dogs,a German shepherd and a lurcher,left for two months in the dining room,it said. A judge has now banned the widow from using the Internet.
