Songwriter Brooks kills self in NYC
Joseph Brooks,the Academy Award-winning songwriter of You Light Up My Life who was awaiting trial on charges of sexually assault,was found dead of an apparent suicide in his Manhattan apartment,the police said. Brooks,73,was discovered Sunday slumped over on a couch with a dry-cleaning bag around his head,a hose attached to a helium tank was hooked up to the bag. A suicide note cited poor health.
Japan deports Russell Brand
The past came back to haunt Russell Brand as the funnymans criminal offences from a decade ago has led him to be deported from the Japan airport on arrival with pop star wife Katy Perry. The 35-year-old comedian was allegedly held by the immigration officials and eventually expelled from Japan due to to old arrests on his record from 10 years ago,reported New York Daily News.
