Will speak on Ayodhya at Somnath,says Advani

BJP leader L K Advani said he would speak on the Ayodhya verdict at Somnath on September 25.

BJP leader L K Advani said he would speak on the Ayodhya verdict at Somnath on September 25,a day after the Allahabad High Court delivers its judgment on the title suits. Advani was here to visit former minister Amit Shah,who has been arrested in connection with the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case.

Saying that he had asked his colleagues in the BJP to wait till the courts verdict,Advani said he would speak his mind at Somnath,from where he launched his Rath Yatra about a decade back. Advani visits Somnath at this time every year.

Earlier in the day,Advani met Shah at the Sabarmati Central Jail for about 20 minutes. Accompanied by the partys Gujarat in-charge Balbir Punj,Advani later met Shahs family at their residence in Naranpura area. He said he was in the city to inquire about Shahs health,besides apprising him of the situation outside.

Advanis meeting with Shahs family lasted for about 15 minutes. While the former ministers family members declined to comment on what transpired at the meeting,Shahs son said Advani had assured them that he would soon be out of jail.

Meanwhile,Advani accused the central government of misusing the CBI and trying to defame the BJP government in Gujarat. Referring to the Kathlal bypoll results,he said: Never before have we got an Assembly constituency like this since 1947. We did not think the Congress would face such a result from an area which was believed to be its stronghold.
