When PMO snubbed Arjun Singh

While Arjun Singh largely had his way through his term as HRD minister,there was one occasion when he was snubbed. Arjun Singh,it is learnt,had expressed his desire to head the Aurobindo foundation after Dr Karan Singh was set to relinquish the post in 2008-end. The HRD minister had,in fact,nominated his own name for the high- profile job. However,the PMO is said to have nixed his chances,giving Dr Karan Singh another extension instead. It is now learnt that besides gubernatorial assignments,the former HRD minister is also lobbying for the ICCR top job which also enjoys Cabinet rank perks.
