Tridev launched

Tamil actor Karthi is all set to tie the knot with Ranjani,daughter of Erode Chinnasamy and Jothi Meenakshi Sneha Reddy.

Karthi,who made his acting debut in 2007 with the top-grossing film Paruthiveera,is the son of actor Sivakumar and younger brother of superstar Suriya. After completing his MS in Industrial Engineering from New York,he returned to Chennai to try his luck in films. Ranjani has done her MA in English Literature and is a gold medalist from Stella Maris College in Chennai. The marriage has been arranged by the elders of the family and will take place on July 3 in Erode.

Punjabi movie Dharti releases

Producer Darshan Singh Grewals Punjabi film Dharti released on April 22. The political suspense thriller is directed by Navaniat Singh and stars Jimmy Shergill,Surveen Chawla,Rannvijay Singh,Japji Khaira,Prem Chopra and Rahul Dev.

Dharti,which had its premiere in Australia,was released alongside Dum Maaro Dum and has reportedly done well in the East Punjab circuit.

Zabardast,a Hyderabadi film

After a very long,a film containing a Hyderabadi-Dakhani dialect is set for release. Zabardast,that opens on May 20,is a multi-starrer action-adventure-comedy film. Directed by Aziz Naser,it stars Gullu Dada,Adnan,Sajid Khan,Masth Ali,Aziz Naser,Faheem ul Haq,Akbar Bin Tabar,Zarine Ali,Shagufta and R K Mama. It is produced by Interesting Films and G S Venture.

It might be recalled that the first Hyderabadi film The Angrez was released in 2004. It became a platform to revive many old artistes and also gave a platform to the new faces. An average budget of a Hyderabadi movie is around 70-80 lakhs. Though these movies are released in only Nizam territory,apparently their DVDs are in demand across the globe.
