It was a rare sight when Haryana Janhit Congress president Kuldeep Bishnoi and his elder brother Chander Mohan aka Chand Mohammad shared the stage at a recent cricket tournament. Chander Mohan slipped into oblivion after the controversial Chand-Fiza episode. The love affair,marriage,separation,reunion and finally divorce with his lady love booted him out of his political career. Once the Deputy Chief Minister,he fell out of favour and was denied a ticket to fight for the Assembly seat that he had won four times. The brothers have not been on talking terms since the controversy started. While both may have agreed to come on the same platform,the acrimony between the two was apparent with each looking away from the other till the very end of the event.

When Hooda shook hands with his rival

Recently Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Indian National Lok Dal chief and former CM Om Prakash Chautala came across each other at a wedding reception. The encounter happened immediately after the Assembly session where the duo had verbal clashes. However,the meeting presented an entirely different scenario. Chautala,who was seated before Hooda came in,stood up and extended his hand to which Hooda responded with warmth. Both exchanged pleasantries. However,the meeting did not last long as within minutes Hooda called his friend and former minister Venod Sharma. Chautala left the venue soon after. A politician standing nearby whispered: 8220;Dil mile na mile haath to milaya.8221;

Finally,a Haryana Officer at the Centre

After a long gap finally an IAS officer from the state,Anuradha Gupta,is heading for a Union government assignment. The state government had earlier proposed names of five officers for Central government deputation but all of them withdrew for one or the other reason. Gupta is going on Central government deputation leaving behind her influential posting at the Chief Ministers office. She had earlier spent some time in the Health Department and has been chosen by the Union government to serve as Joint Secretary Health. She is known for her firm stand and in the past has had a tiff with retied IPS officer Kiran Bedi. The incident happened during Guptas stint as the Home Secretary at Chandigarh.

Kanda-Chautala feud continues in the house

The recently concluded Monsoon session of the Assembly again witnessed a spat between Minister of State for Home Gopal Kanda and his former mentor INLD chief Om Prakash Chautala. Kanda was under attack from Chautala for his drivers alleged involvement in a case of abduction and rape. Kanda had wanted to contest polls from Sirsa but Chautala did not find him worthy of a party ticket. Hence,Kanda contested as an Independent and trounced Chautalas candidate in their hometown. Thanks to the Congresss dismal performance,the Independents were wooed with plum posts and that is how Kanda became a minister. Chautala,on the other hand,leaves no opportunity to criticise him.
