The last day of shoot of Luv U Soniyo in Mumbai captured the most important sequence of the film.
Its late afternoon when we walk on to the sets of Joe Ranjans Luv U Soniyo. The set is a bungalow situated in the center of the far-flung Royal Palms in Mumbai. The team has just wrapped up the first schedule for the day. In one corner, Tanuj Virani and Neha Hinge, who debut in the film, are rehearsing their lines, while some decorators are giving the finishing touches to a room that will serve as Nehas bedroom in the film. Joe and his team of assistants are huddled in front of the monitor keenly watching some scenes that were shot earlier in the day.
There are montages of a song showing Neha getting out of a bed stuffed with teddy bears, explains choreographer,Howard Rosemeyer, who has doubled up as the creative director of the film.
The scene being shot today is an important one, according to the director,as it will show Tanuj proposing to Neha. While she changes into a pair of loose pajamas and a T-shirt,Tanuj,who she fondly calls Charlie Chaplin, sports a white shirt and black pants with suspenders. Folding up the shirt sleeves and pulling off the suspender strings,Tanuj enters the room along with Neha. This scene comes soon after a party is held to celebrate Nehas birthday where her engagement to Bunty Grewal is announced. Tanuj is in love with Neha and when he learns about her engagement he comes over to her place to confess his love for her. He jumps into her bedroom through the window to propose to her, explains the debutant director.
Tanuj suggests some improvisations and another take is called for. Tanuj is very convincing as an actor. He has his moms Rati Agnihotri genes, smiles Joe.
As the team gets ready to film the scene in which Tanuj climbs into Nehas bedroom, the director says that it is their last day there. His team will soon be heading to Mexico to shoot a romantic song on Neha and Tanuj. Rosemeyer, who will choreograph the song, has not yet planned the sequence. But I have a mental sketch of how I want the song to pan out. Im hoping to find someone playing a Spanish guitar on the streets of Mexico so that we can include him in the song, he says.
