Tech Mahindra Q2 net up 10%

The company had a net profit of Rs 169.47 crore in the July-September quarter last fiscal.

IT company Tech Mahindra said its consolidated net profit rose by 10.13 per cent to Rs 186.65 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.

The company had a net profit of Rs 169.47 crore in the July-September quarter last fiscal,Tech Mahindra said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

“The robust quarterly performance reflects our strong capabilities in the telecom domain and our ability to provide multiple service offering under one umbrella. Our performance in emerging markets and greenfield operations gives us confidence that we are successful in meeting the ever-changing expansion of our customers,” Tech Mahindra Chairman Anand Mahindra said.

As on September quarter,the company has a headcount of 34,007. The company added seven new customers during the period,taking the total customer count to 124.

Income from operations rose to Rs 1,533.90 crore against Rs 1,141.80 crore in the same quarter previous year.

“This quarter was one of execution in both service delivery and business acquisition. Our reach has increased with the addition of customers relationships across geographies. This augurs well for us at a time when we are seeing the signs of demand revival,” Tech Mahindra MD CEO Vineet Nayyar said.

On standalone basis,the company has posted a net profit of Rs 183.95 crore,down 12 per cent over the same period last year.

Shares of Tech Mahindra today closed at Rs 785.55 on the BSE,up 2.73 per cent from the previous close.
