Perfect getaway
I love Mumbais pace, but it gets to me after a while. I need some time off and Goa is always an easy option as its not too far from Mumbai. So in December,I went there with my sister and friends as the weather is just perfect. The sun is not too harsh and the sea looks beautiful.

Sun and sand
We rented a house by the beach in North Goa. The beaches are pristine and you can enjoy solitude as they are away from the citys hustle and bustle. I just couldnt wait to slip into a comfortable dress, soak up the sun all day long while gossiping with my friends over delicious cocktails and sea food!

Lounging around
We were there for five days. We spent the first few days just lazing around. It was sheer bliss as we would wake up late,go for a quick swim in the sea and then just lounge around the local seafood shacks. These shacks have the best cocktails and food coupled with great music. You can sit and stare at the water for hours together.

Water world
We went crazy over water-sports. We took the Banana boat also known as water-sledge rides, and we did jet skiing and para-sailing as well, screaming, giggling and cheering. In short,it was just fantastic.

Wonderland
Goa is a treasure-trove of culture and history. No trip is complete without visiting Fort Aguada,a 17th-century Portuguese fort located on the Sinquerim beach. I loved taking a walk by its light house. The churches of Goa are simply marvellous. I visited Reis Magos church located near Panjim, the Chapel of St.Catherine and St Cathedral, which is the largest church in Asia. The architecture is spellbinding and everything has been immaculately restored. Then there are the flea markets at Anjuna beach where you find the most gorgeous silver jewellery and art.

Gastronomy
Rather than shopping,I spent a lot of time eating fresh seafood and drinking fruit cocktails. The local seafood shacks serve amazing butter garlic prawns, crab, calamari,Goan curry and my all- time favourite, vindaloo, which is a fiery curry made with meat, garlic and wine.

Last words
Though the trip was a much-deserved break,no amount of time that you spend in Goa is enough. So I am going to make sure that as soon as I get some time off,I shall visit this place again.
