Shah Rukh Khan, for all his irreverent style,is a perfectionist at heart. While shooting a fire sequence for Ra.One,he,along with his team, figured that the fire did not quite meet expectations.
It was more like a cloth burning than wires catching fire where there is more smoke and sparks, said the superstar.
The next thing was that the sequence had to be reworked to make the fire just right.
Now thats King Khans passion for the perfect popcorn entertainment for his audience, never mind the cost. The results,no doubt, are likely to be priceless!
Who’s who
What is the biggest Bollywood faux-pas? A newcomer not recognising a famous co-star.
Pakistani pop icon Ali Zafar made this mistake with Katrina Kaif, his co-star in an upcoming Yash Raj Films production, when she approached him at a party knowing that they were to begin shooting together soon.
On being greeted by Alis blank look,Katrina was graceful enough to not look flustered and introduced herself. But,later when they met at the Yash Raj office, she did not give up the opportunity to tease the lad.
For Ali,it was a lesson to add to his Bollywood orientation guide.
Back in form
Hrithik Roshan, who had to put on some extra kilos for his role of a paraplegic in Sanjay Leela Bhansalis Guzaarish,is now back to a very toned physique.
At the first look of the film, his co-actors,model Monikangana and Aditya Roy Kapoor were heard complimenting the star on how quickly he had got rid of the flab.
On his part,Hrithik was very happy for the newcomers, who were waiting anxiously for the films promos to be released. So at last its out, he was heard, telling the very excited duo who have pivotal roles in the film.
Star-struck
Now you can buy a T-shirt that reads I look like John Abraham and if that makes you look too star-struck,you can pick the one that reads Pain is Temporary,Pride is Forever.
Apparently,John Abrahams newly-launched line of tees and merchandise has something for everyone. After all,the actor has personally overseen the designing of the line that will define his personality.
But one wonders, who would pay to claim resemblance with John?
Belly Dancing
Shakira was a hot favourite recently for her Waka waka number, the official song for this years FIFA World cup.And it seems that Kareena Kapoor, impressed with her performance,is to sway her hips in Shakira style for the title-track of Golmaal 3.
We will get to see our own Kareena belly-dancing for a hot number for the first time ever. Since she loves to dance,Bebo picked up the steps in a jiffy and without many rehearsals, managed to give the perfect shot or rather perfect dance movements.
And like the Mauja hi mauja number from Jab We Met,wherein she made the harem pants a popular trend,in the Golmaal 3 song too she will be seen sporting harem pants with ganjis and a lot of bangles that she has worn throughout the film. Hope, that the magic of her dance numbers continues.
Creepy tale
Soon wild fangs turn screen- scorchers. Hisss,a modern take on the Indian nagin flicks, casts Mallika Sherawat as a vengeful serpent who leaves the safe haven of a wild forest to rescue her captured mate from a city.
She claims this to be any actors dream-role. One can understand her sentiment, since one rarely gets a chance to play a reptile on the screen. The snake-woman, soaring high after her brief moments of Hollywood fame, attempts a Halle Berry from Catwoman.
But the promos that are more icky than freaky show just hip-swinging and snake-dance in the name of action. The release of the movie will indeed reveal the rest.
Facing Reality
Director Mohit Suri, who had a first-hand experience of racial discrimination while shooting in Australia for his upcoming film Crook, said that the incident inspired him to improvise the movies script.
We had a day off so went for a party in a pub. We were not allowed inside as an Indian bouncer told us that there was no space, but they let Australians in. This personal experience helped me in improvising the script a lot, said the director, whose film deals with racial attacks on Indians in Australia.
When it came to permits and shooting I faced issues in Australia. We were not allowed to shoot for a couple of days and we had to build sets in Mumbai because of which the production cost shot up. 10-20 per cent of the shooting was done in Mumbai, said the 29-year-old.
He said it was after media reports on racial attacks in Australia that he decided to make a movie on the subject. To unearth the truth behind the attacks,Mohit went to a store where the first major racial attack took place.
He was shocked to learn that an Indian was brutally beaten up because of his colour and religion. I realised that racism is part of every persons heart…it is there everywhere whether it is in our own country or anywhere else. I did not want to make a film that would criticise any race or country. I wanted to deal with it on a larger scale, Mohit said.
