Twins Ankita and Amruta are very different from each other. While Ankita is a beautiful homely girl,Amruta is a tomboy who is always playing with the boys in the village. They live with their parents Anna Gurav and his wife, grandmother, brother Ajit, his wife Nanda and sister Anandi in Vanarvadi in Konkan district. Gurav is a firm believer of astrology and starts any work after consulting the grahas. Ajit is totally against it and both father and son do not see eye to eye. Ankita is in love with Subbu,a rickshaw driver while Amruta falls for Master who lives in their house.
The Gurav family has had mango groves for decades but for some reason Anna is not interested in them. Ajit decides to take the matter in his hands and with innovative technology,he invents a new kind of mango. However Chajed,a trader, wants the villagers to sell their mangoes to him,at a meager rate. Ajit opposes this. And now the family is in a dilemma,to sell their crop in the market.
There is no justification as to why Madhura Welankar is in a double role. What can be concluded is that she is shown as twins because when the father,Anna Gurav Shivaji Satam wants Ankita to marry Master Makrand Anaspure who is in love with Amruta, they decide to change places just to show him that stars cannot change their fate. Ankita becomes Amruta and vice-versa. Satam,as a frustrated father who is loud and harsh,is good in his role. Madhura is passable in both the characters. Rest of the cast also pass muster. As for the credits, there is nothing much to be desired. Abhijit Satam who makes his directorial debut with this film, would have done a better job coming from the ad background.
RATING
One star each for Shivaji Satams good performance and for the subject.
