A contingent of Indian soldiers,who returned from an 11-day joint exercise with their Chinese counterparts Thursday,said they felt enriched by the professional exchange of ideas and insight into counter-terrorism strategies.
The exercise Hand-in-hand was the third part of a series of joint exercises between the two countries It was an enriching experience; there was professional exchange of ideas and insights during our stay with the Chinese troops, Col Gaurav Srivastava,Commanding Officer of the 16 Sikh Light Infantry,said.
The 160-member Indian delegation was led by Brigadier DS Shishodia and the Chinese delegation comprised troops from the 1st Battalion Infantry Division of the Peoples Liberation Army PLA.
The soldiers arrived in Guwahati late on Thursday. Brig Shishodia said,We trained on aspects of counter-terrorism,including cordon,search operations and heli-borne operations which were planned to benefit both countries.
