Leading European carmakers,SkodaAuto India and Volkswagen have posted impressive growth in the new year.

SkodaAuto India a fully owned subsidiary of SkodaAuto a.s.,Czech Republic and one of the most promising automobile companies in India,today announced a sales growth of 51 per cent for the month of January,2011.

SkodaAuto India’s total sales for January,2011 stood at 2825 units against 1881 units in January 2010,a company statement said.

The newly launched Skoda Yeti and the new Skoda Fabia have substantially contributed to the growth of the company’s performance.

“2011 has started on a very positive note. Our sales increase of 51 per cent is testimonial for our future growth plan in India,” SkodaAuto India’s Board Member,Sales and Marketing,Thomas Kuehl said.

Meanwhile,Volkswagen brand also continued its impressive growth in 2011 with 5,601 vehicles sold in the month of January.

Volkswagen sold over 5000 units of the Polo and Vento in January,the release here.

“We look forward to further strengthening the position of both our volume models in the coming months and ensure a good growth rate of our premium models in the market,” Volkswagen Passenger Cars Member of Board,Director,Neeraj Garg said.
