The Shiv Sena and CPI on Tuesday urged the government not to go ahead with the Jaitapur nuclear power project in view of continuing protests by local population. Shiv Senas Manohar Joshi raised the issue during the zero hour in Rajya Sabha,saying the public sentiment was against the project and alleged that the local administration was using repressive measures to against the protestors. Echoing him,CPIs D Raja said the project involved the construction of untested technology in the form of European Pressurised Reactors.
