Rupee spikes to 45.97/dlr,at 11-wk high

At 3 p.m.,the rupee was at 45.97/98 per dollar,its strongest since Oct. 20.

Rupee spikes to 45.97/dlr,at 11-wk high

The rupee strengthened to its highest level in 11 weeks on Wednesday afternoon boosted by a report calling for a yuan revaluation and following the domestic stock market8217;s rise to a 22-month peak early.

At 3 p.m.,the partially convertible rupee was at 45.97/98 per dollar,its strongest since Oct. 20,and above Tuesday8217;s close of 46.24/25.
