RSS adds to BJP might behind Varun

The BJP leadership,too,appears to be backing the young leader to the hilt.

“Varun is young and talented. He is unnecessarily being harassed. Whatever has happened to Varun is part of vote bank politics,” said party president Rajnath Singh,in Ghaziabad,during the course of his campaigning. Rajnath is the party candidate from the seat for the coming election. He added: “The person who was never named in an FIR was booked under the NSA. Even if he was to be booked,it should be under violation of code of conduct and not NSA… I talk to Menakaji (Varun’s mother) at least four times a day. I will be meeting Varun on April 6.”

Party general secretary Arun Jaitley,too,slammed the Mayawati Government on using the NSA against Varun and said the party stood firmly with Varun’s family on the issue.

“The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister must stop her politics of atrocities. In the entire history of the state such a step has never yielded any sort of political success. The slapping of the NSA on Varun and the attempt to murder charges are simply vindictive. If the charges were not withdrawn then the BSP will have to pay a heavy price for it,” said the BJP general secretary,addressing the media in Lucknow.

Emphasising that it was a political fight for restoration of democratic rights,the BJP general secretary said: “Why should Maneka Gandhi apologise? She had only objected to the slapping of the NSA on Varun. At this point of time this is not a personal fight,but a political one. Mayawati has started a wrong tradition and the entire BJP stands firm behind Maneka and her son Varun.”
