After his controversial remark on population explosion,Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday sought to revive the drive on population control by urging political parties and their leaders to launch an aggressive campaign to tackle the issue.
Politicians are the most aggressive campaigners. When we campaign hard,we are able to convince people to vote for us. Now we should campaign hard for controlling population, Azad said during a debate in the Rajya Sabha. The government will not allow sub-standard contraceptives,he said, adding that the products would be marketed only after experts approval.
