A Congress spokesperson in Srinagar said Azad, a former chief minister, would start his tour from Saturday and over the next few days, he would visit several districts of the state. The spokesperson said Azad would also meet streets vendors during his visit.
The court will also hear MDMK general secretary Vaiko’s Habeas Corpus plea seeking production of former J&K CM Farooq Abdullah, who he claimed was not being allowed to attend a seminar organised by him in Chennai.
In his petition, Azad has also sought permission to check on the social atmosphere in the state after the clampdown imposed by the authorities in the aftermath of the Centre's August 5 decision to dilute Article 370 and bifurcate the state into two Union Territories.
Azad, according to party spokesperson Abdul Rashid Choudhary, was to attend a function organized by the party as part of country wide celebrations in connection with 75th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi.

New Delhi, Feb 22 (ANI): Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday said the Congress will help the ruling government in passing all the bills that will be presented in the Parliament. He added that the Congress should not be blamed for any disruption in the Parliament. He clarified by saying that if the government will listen to the matters rather than ignoring them, then the Parliament will work properly without any disruption.
