RBI Dy Guv Sinha gets extension

The government has given an 11-month extension to Anand Sinha as Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India.

The government has given an 11-month extension to Anand Sinha as Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India.

Sinha who was first appointed as the deputy governor in January 2011 for a period up to February 28,2013,will now continue until January 18,2014.

According to a notification issued by the government,he will now continue as the deputy governor until January 18,2014 when he completes the tenure of three years from the date on which he assumed office January 19,2011.

Sinha will continue to oversee department of banking operations and development,department of non-banking supervision and the urban banks department.
