Bengali film director Sandip Ray is presently busy with his fifth movie based on the Feluda series. Titled Royal Bengal Rahasya The Royal Bengal Mystery,it is based on wildlife and will have Bengali actor Sabyasachi Chakraborty once again playing the detective Feluda,Ray said.
Feluda is a fictional private investigator from a series of Bengali novels and short stories written by late director Satyajit Ray. The character of Feluda was earlier played by Soumitra Chatterjee in Sonar Kella and Joi Baba Felunath The Elephant God,both directed by the senior Ray. His son Sandip Ray has directed four Feluda films viz.,Baksho Rahashya,Bombaiyer Bombete The Bandits of Bombay Kailashey Kelenkari Kailash Chowdhurys Jewel and Tintorettor Jishu. These had Sabyasachi Chakraborty as detective Feluda.
The Royal Bengal Mystery will go on floors on April 1 in Orissa. The film will be based mostly on outdoor locales and will have its second schedule in North Bengal followed by Kolkata. Sandip Ray will score the background music of the film that is scheduled to release in December.
Talking over the phone from Kolkata,the director said,I am busy with The Royal Bengal Mystery till December. He also denied reports of making a Bengali film with Hindi actress Tabu in the lead.
