Deepika Govind who is and likes to be known as a designer working with and for textiles will come up with a line called Pop Patola to be displayed at the LFW Fashion Week which begins next week in Mumbai. Patola is a complex and intriguing textile; based on Ikat weaving8211;single Ikat or double. Double ikat is done only in some weaver8217;s clusters in Orissa and Andhra Pradesh and of course for the way the famed and slipping away Patola sari of Patan. Deepika has posted a Youtube video DG Pop Patola Ver Final showing some behind the scenes work into her collection. Till we see the collection,all I can say is I am intrigued and my question is Why make Patola Pop? Perhaps Deepika8217;s LFW show will answer the question.
