Pokhriyal misused power: Bhatti Commission report

The Bhatti Commission Report Part 1,which was tabled in the Uttarakhand Assembly amidst din on Tuesday,has accused BJP leader and former chief minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank of misusing power to appoint the chairman of Uttarakhand Seeds and Tarai Development Corporation Limited US amp; TDC Ltd during his tenure.

Pokhriyal had appointed one Hemant Dwivedi as the chairman of US amp; TDC Ltd in February 2010. As per the report,Pokhriyal had passed an order regarding Dwivedis appointment on February 16,2010. The report has termed it as an illegal order and against the advice and recommendations of the Law and Agriculture departments.

The commission is of the opinion that legal advice should be sought from the highest level for a situation that emerges in case of an order which exceeds jurisdiction of the CMs constitutional post and stands against the rules.

Pokhriyal said it was shocking that the commission hadnt properly read the US amp; UTD Ltds Articles of Association. He called the report biased,an attempt to defame the BJP,and said he would challenge it in court. I have done nothing illegal, he added.
