One detained for rifle scopes cargo

A mysterious consignment of 10 rifle scopes in a cargo plane from Dubai which landed here three days ago caused a flutter among security agencies. The police have detained Vijayan,a local resident who acted as a courier for Yusuf,a Meerut resident,and his local customs clearing agent for interrogation. Chennai suburban Police Commissioner S R Jangid on Tuesday said only rifle scopes were seized and there were no rifles or explosives.
