External Affairs Minister S M Krishna on Friday said that US President Barack Obamas recent visit will elevate the India-US strategic partnership to a new level in the long term.
The visit was successful in strengthening mutual understanding on regional and global issues; accelerating the momentum of our bilateral cooperation; and creating a long-term framework to elevate the India-US strategic partnership to a new level, Krishna said in the Lok Sabha,making a suo motu statement regarding Obamas visit to India earlier this month.
With the Opposition in the well of the Lok Sabha demanding a JPC probe into the 2G spectrum allocation,Krishna was forced to lay down his statement on the table of the House.
Describing Obamas visit to India as a milestone in the process of strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries,Krishna highlighted the major points from the Joint Statement issued after the visit to the House along with laying the copy of the statement on the table.
