Nitish critic,Modi backer suspended

MPs Purnamasi Ram,Jaynarain Nishad out of JDU for six years.

The JDU Wednesday suspended its Gopalganj and Muzaffarpur MPs for six years for indulging in anti-party activities and hobnobbing with partys political rivals.

Partys national president Sharad Yadav suspended Purnamasi Ram and Jaynarain Nishad for frequently speaking against the party leadership. Nishad, who represents Muzaffarpur constituency in the Lok Sabha, had recently met BJPs prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. Gopalganj MP Ram has been speaking against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

We cannot tolerate indiscipline. The party president suspended Nishad and Ram without serving any notice as per the provisions of the party constitution, party spokesperson KC Tyagi told The Indian Express. He added that the both would continue to remain as MPs but cannot leave the party.

The party had recently suspended Mohania MLA Chhedi Paswan for meeting Modi. Nishad and Ram have been perennial party hoppers, Tyagi added.

Nishad has been inviting party leaderships ire for quite some time. At first,he openly advocated Modis PM candidature and then organised havans for Modi at his Delhi residence. Nishads hobnobbing with Modi is said to have hurt the party leadership as in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, the JDU nominated him to contest from Muzaffarpur after denying ticket to patriarch George Fernandes, who later contested as an Independent.
