Mulayam against Food Bill,says no patch-up with Cong

The SP leader denied any patch-up with the Congress.

Denying all reports of a possible patch up with Congress,Samajwadi Party president Mulayam on Saturday said his party is against the proposed Food Security Bill.

“We oppose the proposed Food Security Bill in its present format. In a democratic set up every one has a right to have his own opinion. If an all-party meeting is called on it then we will keep our stand during the meeting,” he told reporters in Lucknow.

The SP leader also denied any patch-up with the Congress. “The Congress has not approached me for this issue,I did not had talks with anyone on this issue,” he stated.

On reports that a deal has been struck with CBI to withdraw the assets case against him in lieu of support for food security bill,Mulayam said: “You must be aware of it,I have no information.”

SP MP Mohan Singh also disowned his remarks that his party will support the Bill. “I had never given such statement in support of Food Security Bill. I am very ill and have no information and my party leadership will take the decision,” Mohan Singh said.
