The Madhya Pradesh police have unearthed a major racket in Bachelor of Dental Surgery course that helped replace answer sheets written by students inside the examination hall with those written outside. Four students of private dental colleges in Bhopal have been arrested and a hunt launched for Sajjan Singh Parmar,a former Barkatullah University student leader, who operated the racket allegedly in collusion with invigilators and university staff.
The police have identified 19 cases in which the answersheets were replaced during the examination conducted in May-June this year. The racket came to light after Parmar was found in possession of graduation degrees of about a dozen students.
The police claimed that as no case was registered against Parmar,he was let go. He has now gone underground. The certificates should have reached the students concerned by post but were found with Parmar after which the university started a probe. DSP STF D S Baghel said the police have asked the university authorities to provide names of invigilators and staff involved in conducting the examination.
