The victims alleged that Modak Rajesh,a 1995 batch IPS officer, thrashed them for not informing him about the visit of former mayor S T Hasan.

The UP government suspended Morabadabad SSP Modak Rajesh D Rao for allegedly misbehaving with his subordinates and thrashing three class IV employees posted at his residence Sunday.

The victims alleged that Modak Rajesh,a 1995 batch IPS officer, thrashed them for not informing him about the visit of former mayor S T Hasan at his office-cum-residence and making him wait for nearly an hour. Hasan is also Samajwadi Party candidate for Moradabad Lok Sabha seat.

The three victims met range DIG Amrendra K Sengar on Sunday and informed him about the incident. On the basis of the complaint,a report was sent to the state government. However,no FIR was lodged.

The three victims are Gumaan Singh 48,Daya Kishan 40 and Sunder Sengar 36. Daya Kishan is a police follower while other two are office peons. Gumaan Singh has been posted at the SSPs residence for the last 11 years while Daya Kishan and Sunder Sengar have been working there for nearly one year and two months respectively.

On Saturday morning,S T Hasan visited the office-cum-residence of the SSP. The IPS officer was at his residence at that time. The policeman who attended on Hasan asked Gumaan Singh about the SSP. After waiting for around an hour,Hasan called Modak Rajesh on his cellphone after which the latter came to know about the visit. He came to the office and met Hasan. After Hasan left,Modak Rajesh scolded his staff for not informing him and later reportedly thrashed his three subordinates.

Gumaan Singh said,He slapped us and later beat us with a floor-wiper made of plastic. He said the SSP also scolded the policeman who had attended on Hasan. I was unaware that Hasan was waiting at the office. The policeman who called me from the office did not say that Dr Hasan had come, he said.

When contacted,Modak Rajesh refused to comment on the issue.
