Chief Minister Narendra Modi cast his civic poll vote at 10.10 am on 10 /10/10,evoking curiosity among city folks,many of whom had planned marriages,even deliveries through the caesarean route,at that rare moment Sunday.

Modi,however,said it was just a coincidence,and that he had originally planned to vote at 9:30 am. But he said he considered it lucky to have voted at the rare moment.

Modi,however,proved to be a hindrance to a number of voters who had come to vote at the Ranip polling booth in Ahmedabad. For security reasons,voters were made to wait for some 30-45 minutes before,during and after Modi cast his vote.

Modi apart,the city saw a long list of people who used the five-10s moment in different ways. Hospitals reported that many couples had pre-planned delivery of their babies on Sunday at 10.10 am.

Dr Jayesh Shah of Raj Nursing Home in Asarava helped Jyoti Kumar deliver a baby boy. Jyoti was scheduled to deliver through a C-Section on Friday. But,the couple preferred to have the baby born at 10.10 am on Sunday, said Dr Shah. We agreed to do that since it posed no danger either to the mother or the baby.

Several couples,like Mitul Dave and Pragna Dave of Khokhra, had fixed their marriage on Sunday. Daves neighbour Harshad Patel said their marriage was originally scheduled after Diwali. But,they decided to get married on Sunday at 10.10 am.
