The Noida police on Friday arrested an engineer working with a multinational company for injuring a traffic police constable in an accident early in the morning.

Police sources said Pradeep Jaggi,a resident of Paschim Vihar,was arrested this morning for allegedly hitting and injuring constable Rakesh Kumar with his Honda City near Rajnigandha Chowk.

Jaggi dragged the policeman for at least 20 to 30 metres before fleeing, Station House Officer of Sector 20 P K Shukla said. He was intercepted and detained near DPS Sector 30.

The police said the accident happened during the morning rush hour around 9 am. Jaggi was on the way to his office in Noida Sector-63 via the DND Expressway. With the signals switched off,traffic police personnel were manning the traffic. Jaggi was driving the car at a high speed and could not control the vehicle, the SHO said.

Rakesh Kumar was admitted to Kailash Hospital in the city,where his condition is stated to be stable.
