Missing 8-yr-old girl found dead in Baramulla field

An eight-year-old girl was found murdered in Laser village in Rafiabad in Baramulla district of Jamp;K on Saturday after she had gone missing on Friday afternoon.

Police said the girls body was found in a field outside the village and that initial reports suggested that she was murdered. There was a cut on her neck that was made by a sharp weapon. She died due to the loss of blood, Dr Masarat,Deputy Medical Superintendent Baramulla said.

Doctors say that they were unable to either confirm or rule out rape.

We have taken samples and sent them to the Forensic Science Laboratory. We now waiting for their report, Dr Masarat said.

The police said the body of the girl was recovered in suspicious conditions and that they would investigate the incident.
