Indian stocks,bond and currency markets are closed on Thursday and Friday for local holidays. Trading resumes on Monday.
India’s main stock index rallied 3.65 per cent on Wednesday to 11,403.25 points,its highest since Oct. 14 last year. It rose 17.45 per cent in April in its best performance in 10 years.
The 10-year benchmark bond yield ended at 6.23 per cent,off an early high of 6.27 per cent,but above Tuesday’s close of 6.21 per cent.
The partially convertible rupee closed at 50.04/05 per dollar,1 per cent stronger than its Tuesday’s close of 50.52/53. However,it dropped 0.5 per cent on the week,snapping seven consecutive weekly gains.
Commodity markets in Mumbai are also closed on Thursday and Friday.
