It was the fear of losing the family property and the money his family received as compensation for land acquisition by the government that forced this man to get his father murdered.
Prakash Chand,a 62-year old retired employee of NDMC,had bought some property in Vijay Nagar,Ghaziabad, from the money he had received after his retirement, besides compensation for the land acquired by the government in Bisrakh village in Gautam Budh Nagar.
Prakash had received around Rs 10 lakh after retirement and Rs 65 lakh as compensation for land acquired by the government. With the money,he bought some property in Vijay Nagar and started staying there, Ghaziabad SSP Raghubir Lal said.
Police said after Shyamveers mother died,Prakash started inviting women over to his Vijay Nagar house. The two used to constantly argue over the matter. A week before Prakash was murdered,he had gone to Bisrakh to fetch documents pertaining to their house. When Shyamveer objected,Prakash threatened to commit suicide by setting himself on fire.
Following this, police said,Shyamveer hatched a plot to kill Prakash with his cousin Pintu and two associates,Ashraf and Chaman. They were reportedly paid Rs 1.5 lakh for the murder. Ashraf and Shyamveer have been arrested. Prakashs body, with the throat slit, was found on the night of August 28.
