Maize cob sheller for White House

For L P Gite and his wife Ujjwala,this Diwali will always be memorable. Despite the effort they had put in to travel to Mumbai and not spend Diwali at home,Sunday8217;s interaction with the US President more than made up. Not only did Obama asked them about the technique of shelling maize cobs with an innovative product that Gite promotes,but he also reportedly said that a similar device in the White House will be welcome.

We could not believe that the world8217;s most powerful man was sitting down with us and trying to understand how to shell maize cobs, says Ujjwala,a housewife by profession. Her husband is a project coordinator with the Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering,Bhopal. The President was impressed with innovation and sought one for the White House. He asked what the price was and I was startled,but said it was worth about a dollar. To this,he said he8217;d like one for the White House, added Gite.
